There are over 50 known species of kyphi. The process of making and the ingredients used for the most famous and popular kyphi were carved by the priests of Edfu on the walls of a temple dedicated to the god Horus. Kyphi contains at least 10 ingredients (olibanum, myrrh, benzoe, cinnamon, juniper berries, galgan root, raisins, wine, honey, coriander) and can take several months to make. Thanks to the variety of ingredients, kyphi has a very full and rich aroma.
